seekIMAGE (now in development at v2.1) is a software application for tracing image ownership across
the Web. Its
central identification algorithm works entirely on a physical level, making it possible to correctly
identify the source of an image even if your sample is of different size, quality and / or name. We are due to begin integrating the software into our database, and then the seekIMAGE project may finally get off the ground. It is hoped that we will eventually become a central resource for identifying the true owners of images so that they may be used legally with the owners' consent. The initial release version was available for download until recently, but has now been removed in anticipation of its more functional successor. |
