- Copy the My3DEngine shortcut from this folder to your desktop
- Now delete the folder you originally extracted ( and you may delete the zip file also
)
- Double-click on the shortcut icon to run the program
Troubleshooting
If the program does not run, it is possible that you do not have Java installed and/or setup correctly on
your machine.
To install Java:
- Go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html and click on 'Download
J2SE RE' in the 'J2SE v 1.4.2_10 JRE' section
- Accept the license agreement, then download 'Windows Offline Installation'
- Double-click on the installer application, once downloaded, and choose typical installation, (
do not change the destination folder, if prompted )
NOTE: There may be other, newer, versions of the JRE available for download - choose the newest
version available, and keep a note of the version and its installation location.
Even with Java installed, it is possible that your computer does not know where to locate the Java.exe
application, so you may need to edit your Path variable:
- Right-click on My Computer in the start menu, and select 'Properties'
- Choose 'Advanced' > 'Environment Variables'
- Click on the 'Path' entry in the System Variables list at the bottom of this window
- Now click Edit, and then add ';C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_10\bin' ( or wherever your JRE
bin folder is located ) to the end of this entry
- If there is a 'CLASSPATH' System Variable there, set its value to '.' ( without the quotes,
just a single full-stop / period )
- Keep clicking 'OK' until all the windows have closed, and setup is complete
